St. James Food Drive
We are going to start a food drive, not only for the holidays, but in response to the government shutdown and disruption for SNAP benefits. We will have bags available for a "Fill a Bag Food Drive" (Take a bag from Church, Bring it with you when you get groceries, Fill the Bag at Checkout with some nonperishables, Bring it Back to the Church). Then we can bring them like that to the food banks, too - all bagged up and ready to go.
Salvation Army Christmas
-
Food Donations will begin as soon as possible through Epiphany
-
Toy Donations through Sunday, December 7, 11am.
-
Gift Cards- Gas, Food, or Restaurants are also encouraged, by Sunday, December 7.
Christmas Card Collection
If anyone has Christmas Cards, we will begin to collect enough for the senior homes - McKinley Manor (40), Freighter View (41), and Hearthside (50). Last year, we distributed 81 for the first two on the list. If we start early- we are hoping to get 150 by Christmas Eve! SO START BRINGING YOUR CHRISTMAS CARDS IN!
REMINDER: The youth are still collecting bottles/cans for their annual Christmas shopping event. Bottles/cans can be brought to the church and left in the can outside the women’s washroom. Please make sure they are clean and dry.
Time to start thinking about your pledge to St. James. Pledge letters and cards have been mailed. If you do not receive a letter and would like to make a pledge for 2026, please notify the office and a pledge card will be mailed to you. Cards should be back in the office by Wednesday, November 12, so the vestry can prepare the budget for the December approval.
Your pledges help keep the church moving forward.
The MST is also looking for volunteers during Advent for readers for candle lighting and youth for youth sermon stories.
If you would like to volunteer for any of these, please let someone on the MST know you would like to help.

Besides giving to the church to keep things running, we have another place donations can be made.
The "Youth Activity Fund." This fund will help cover costs for youth functions that are planned by Katie Chipman-Begsma and the MST. Donations will always be welcome to help fund these activities. Please remember to put "Youth Activities" on the check memo line.
Pancake Breakfasts are always held after the 10 a.m. service on the second Sunday of the month, with the exception of June, July, and August.
One last thing, another way to give back to St. James' is to volunteer or get involved when asked.
It takes all of us to keep St. James' going.

PRAYER FOR ST. JAMES'
We pray the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation as we come to know Him, so that, with the eyes of our hearts enlightened, we may know what is the hope which God has called us. Amen. Epheasians 1:17-18a
No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.
St. James’ welcomes ALL who wish to serve GOD through Jesus Christ.
