2026 - ERD Lent Meditation .jpg

This year, Episcopal Relief & Development is offering Lenten Meditations with spiritual reflections from author and TikTok influencer Sister Monica Clare, on the holy habits that bring us closer to God. Here are some ways your congregation can participate:

Subscribe to daily email meditations

Daily email meditations will be delivered to your inbox every day (except Sundays) starting Ash Wednesday, February 18. These emails will include thoughtful questions to inspire your own reflections.

Download the full booklet

If you don’t want to receive meditations one at a time, you can download the full booklet of meditations at once, print it out or view it digitally at your own pace. This option is great for groups or for making printed versions available to your worshiping community.

Read the Lenten Meditations online
Visit our website each week during Lent for new meditations.

St. James Food Drive

We are going to start a food drive, not only for the holidays, but in response to the government shutdown and disruption for SNAP benefits. We will have bags available for a "Fill a Bag Food Drive" (Take a bag from Church, Bring it with you when you get groceries, Fill the Bag at Checkout with some nonperishables, Bring it Back to the Church). Then we can bring them like that to the food banks, too - all bagged up and ready to go.

The Vestry will need two people to serve for 2026-2028.  At this time, Nikki Clark and Fran McCall have agreed to serve.  If you would like to join the vestry, let a vestry member know or notify the office. A vote will be taken at the annual meeting if more than two are interested.

DATES TO REMEMBER

Wed, 2/4 - 3pm - MST Meeting on ZOOM
Thu, 2/5 - 3pm - Freighter View Service
Sun, 2/8 - 11am - Pancake Breakfast
Sun, 2/15 - 11am - Vestry Meeting

Watch the e-newsletter and bulletin for further details.

It is never too late to turn in a Pledge Card or request envelopes.  Let Pam know if you would like envelopes.

Besides giving to the church to keep things running, we have another place donations can be made.

The "Youth Activity Fund."  This fund will help cover costs for youth functions that are planned by Katie Chipman-Begsma and the MST.  Donations will always be welcome to help fund these activities.  Please remember to put "Youth Activities" on the check memo line.

Pancake Breakfasts are always held after the 10 a.m. service on the second Sunday of the month, with the exception of  June, July, and August.

One last thing, another way to give back to St. James' is to volunteer or get involved when asked.

It takes all of us to keep St. James' going.
