We are looking for people to represent St. James at the Diocesan Convention on Friday and Saturday, October 17-18, 2025, at the Terrace Bay Hotel in Gladstone, and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and Bay College in Escanaba. If you are interested in going, please let a vestry member know asap.
Join us October 17 & 18 in Escanaba for our annual Diocesan Convention. This year, a focus of the convention will be on the work of decolonizing the church, including a daylong workshop with Sarah Augustine and Sheri Hostetler, of The Coalition to Dismantle the Doctrine of Discovery, in partnership with Episcopal Divinity School. Information about delegate registration, nominations, and schedules have been sent to congregations. All materials can also be found on the 2025 Diocesan Convention page.
THE MST will be resuming Activity days in September: quilt squares; other ideas. If you would like to participate, please let a team member know what day and time would work for you, as well as what you would be interested in doing.

Besides giving to the church to keep things running, we have another place donations can be made.
The "Youth Activity Fund." This fund will help cover costs for youth functions that are planned by Katie Chipman-Begsma and the MST. Donations will always be welcome to help fund these activities. Please remember to put "Youth Activities" on the check memo line.
Pancake Breakfasts are always held after the 10 a.m. service on the second Sunday of the month, with the exception of June, July, and August.
One last thing, another way to give back to St. James' is to volunteer or get involved when asked.
It takes all of us to keep St. James' going.

PRAYER FOR ST. JAMES'
We pray the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation as we come to know Him, so that, with the eyes of our hearts enlightened, we may know what is the hope which God has called us. Amen. Epheasians 1:17-18a
