UPCOMING EVENTS

 

Friday, June 27, 2025 - Engineers Day Table at City Hall Grounds - The City of Sault Ste. Marie will be hosting its annual celebration of Engineers Day with a number of venues to celebrate this one day-of-the-year event when residents and visitors alike can walk across one of the famous Soo Locks.

St. James' will have a table and canopy set up on the City Hall Grounds to provide information and child friendly games and give away materials. Help is needed to set up the canopy, tables, chairs and prizes/small games for kids and help staff this venue for a period of time. The set-up time is 9am. The event runs from 10am-4pm. Prayer Service participants will leave City Hall grounds at 11:30am  and meet at St. James' parking lot at 12noon.

Ending Gun Violence Prayer Service at St. James' Parking Lot -St. James is hosting a prayer service in the parking lot for all who wish to advocate for Ending Gun Violence. We need some folks from St. James' to be present and also lead the service (anyone can do this as it is all printed out). Please contact Pam at the office or any member of the MST if you can participate in this event . It should not be any longer than about 30 minutes.

Saturday, July 19, 2025 - UP Wild Outdoor Nature Prayer Service - Sherman Park Pavilion area 2:00 p.m. Rain or Shine. More info to follow. Contact Susan Harries or Katie Chipman-Bergsma for details.

Sunday, July 20, 2025 - Ecumenical Worship Service and Picnic - Worship begins at 10:30am at Sherman Park. Set-up is at 9:30am. Each congregation should bring enough meat (burgers, hot dogs and buns) to serve our congregation. Also, coolers, ice, beverages to serve our congregation, lawn chairs for each person, a cook and server/helper at the grill, and 1-2 people to help set up 9:30am and clean up afterwards. Each family is requested to bring a dish to pass which will serve 8-10 people. Serving dishes and utensils should be labeled so they can make it home with their owners!

It is never too late to turn in a Pledge Card or request envelopes.  Let Pam know if you would like envelopes.

Besides giving to the church to keep things running, we have another place donations can be made.

The "Youth Activity Fund."  This fund will help cover costs for youth functions that are planned by Katie Chipman-Begsma and the MST.  Donations will always be welcome to help fund these activities.  Please remember to put "Youth Activities" on the check memo line.


Pancake Breakfasts are always held after the 10 a.m. service on the second Sunday of the month, with the exception of  June, July, and August.


One last thing, another way to give back to St. James' is to volunteer or get involved when asked.

It takes all of us to keep St. James' going.

PRAYER FOR ST. JAMES'

We pray the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation as we come to know Him, so that, with the eyes of our hearts enlightened, we may know what is the hope which God has called us.  Amen.   Epheasians 1:17-18a
